Soccer Game

We had Ben's first soccer game on Saturday. I was pretty nervous but everything went great. In fact we won 3 to 1. I was so proud of my little team especially since it was different kids each time that made the goals. At the beginning of the game I was introducing myself to the kids that I had not been at practice. I told them they could call me coach or Valerie. Ben looked at me and said I will just call you Mommy. I thought that was sweet. I am glad he is excited to have his mom as his coach. The best part of the game is when we were packing up to leave, one of the little boys Caden ran up to Sam and said "Hey Sam that goal you made was sweet!" John and I just burst out laughing. These kids are hilarious and I love being their coach.

First Day of School

Here is Ben on his first day of school. He was so excited to go. I had to beg him for a hug and a kiss before he ran off to line up, to head to class. He never looked back and I am sure life will never be the same now that I have a child in school.

Canning

I am a little behind on my posting but I wanted to post a few things for my record so feel free to skip. Two weeks ago I did some canning with some peaches and tomatoes I got from my in-laws farm. When I finished my canning I like to leave the jars out for a few days to admire my work, so I am going to post pictures here so I can admire it for longer :-)

First we have peaches and peach strawberry freezer jam.

Then we have salsa

Finally we have spaghetti sauce.

I also bottled tomatoes but did not get a picture of that. Now I must give credit to my friend Lacey who came and helped me do the peaches and salsa (of course she took half home). I tell you that is the best way to can with some one to help you. Thanks Lacey!!!
