Why parents go crazy

A friend sent this to me and I thought it was pretty funny.

The boss wondered why one of his most valued employees had not phoned in sick one day. Having an urgent problem with one of the main computers, he dialed the employee's home phone number and was greeted with a child's whisper. "Hello?"

"Is your daddy home?" he asked.

"Yes," whispered the small voice.

May I talk with him?"

The child whispered, "No."

Surprised and wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, "Is your Mommy there?"

"Yes."

"May I talk with her?" Again the small voice whispered, "No."

Hoping there was somebody with whom he could leave a message, the boss asked, "Is anybody else there?"

"Yes," whispered the child, "a policeman".

Wondering what a cop would be doing at his employee's home, the boss asked, "May I speak with the policeman?"

"No, he's busy", whispered the child.

"Busy doing what?"

"Talking to Daddy and Mommy and the Fireman," came the whispered answer.

Growing more worried as he heard a loud noise in the background through the earpiece on the phone, the boss asked, "What is that noise?"

"A helicopter" answered the whispering voice.

"What is going on there?" demanded the boss, now truly apprehensive.

Again, whispering, the child answered, "the search team just landed a helicopter."

Alarmed, concerned and a little frustrated the boss asked, "What are they searching for?"

Still whispering, the young voice replied with a muffled giggle...

"ME."

I am too big...

Today my 4 year old told me he was too big to kiss his Mommy. I was very surprised and sadden by this since he is my very affection child. Plus I didn't think I would hit this age until he was at least in school. I tried several time but he wouldn't budge. My 2 year old was very happy to give me kisses. Finally my 4 year old said he wasn't too old to give his Mommy and Daddy hugs. I was glad to hear this since hugs are my favorite.

What a Catch!

I was going through my pictures from our annual snowmobiling trip and I came across this great picture.

This is my cute, very eligible, little brother. So if you know someone who would like to marry a very smart, handsome, caring, funny, responsible, hard working guy let me know. I mean come on who wouldn't want to marry the type of guy that would take care of my whiny, snot nose 2 year old with a smile on his face.

2 Months Old

Today my sweet baby girl is 2 months old. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. I took her to the doctor's today and she is now 11 lbs 12 oz. This means she is in the 90% for height and weight. What a big girl. My husband is now worried that she is going to be bigger than the boys since they were both in the 50% for height and weight at this age. That has always been his fear that the girls would take after him in height and the boys would take after me. Oh well what can you do.

She is a very sweet baby. She loves her older brothers and smiles at them a lot. She also will sleep at night for a good 8 to 9 hours. What more could I ask for. We are so blessed to have her.

Mom Test

My sister-in-law sent this to me. I have seen it before and got a good laugh out of it. I hope you moms out there enjoy it too.

I get to be the mom.... I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that. 'Why?' my daughter asked. 'Because it's been on the ground, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty, and probably has germs' I replied. At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked, 'Momma, how do you know all this stuff, you are so smart.' I was thinking quickly. 'All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mom Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mom.' We walked along in silence for 2 or 3minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information. 'OH...I get it!' she beamed, 'So if you don't pass the test you have to be the dad. ''Exactly' I replied back with a big smile on my face."

And so it begins....

Well I finally did it. I broke down and started a blog. One thing that has kept me from starting a blog for a long time is coming up with a creative name. Today with the help of my very creative hubby, I came up with "My Sugar Coated Saga". There are two reasons I picked this name. One is that when I read people's blogs it makes their lives seem much more exciting and interesting than mine. Even the worst things, like your child painting your bathroom with toothpaste, seem funny because I am reading it as an outsider. The other reason is that in my family what we really care about is a good story. Basically if something happened, like you broke your leg, it would all be worth it if it gave you a great story to tell. So here is my life, that I only share with you in effort to give you a good story to read and to think that my life, no matter what has happened, is exciting and interesting.
