Potty Training

***Warning this post has potty talk***

Well many of you know the trials we have gone through in try to potty train Jacob. Around his 3rd birthday(mid-October) we gave it a good try. After several weeks of no progress and more accidents than I can count I finally gave up. This was just around Thanksgiving. So on Friday I decided I should give it another try. After about 3 days, he was peeing on the potty just fine. In fact he would even tell me when he had to go. I was ecstatic. The only problem we had left was that he would not poop in the toilet. So after promising him a McDonald's happy meal and renting a Scooby Do movie. He finally did it on Tuesday. I can't tell you how excited I was. Since then he has had no accidents. In fact today while John and I were at Ben's parent teacher conference he pooped again. He was so excited he didn't want to flush the toliet until we got home and we could see it. My little sister who was babysitting thought this was disgusting but I was just excited that he was so proud of himself.

So we are two days with no accidents and him telling me when he has to go. I am sure he will have a few accidents in the future but for the most part I would say he is potty trained. Someone must be smiling down on me and decided to throw me a bone in this whole motherhood thing. All I have to say is THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

Boys are so hard to potty train. You just have to wait till he is ready and voila! Congratulations to you and Jacob.

We're still working with Nathan. Well, actually that's a lie. We're taking a break. He was totally potty trained just after his birthday in October, but after Thanksgiving, he just quit. After cleaning up all the accidents, I said, no more. So he still can, and does go in the potty occasionally, but mostly just doesn't care. Should I try to push it? Or live without the stress of fighting it? I hate potty training!!!

So this is what we have to look forward to. Thanks for sharing although not a pleasant subject it's good for us to know it's not super easy.
