Potty Training

***Warning this post has potty talk***

Well many of you know the trials we have gone through in try to potty train Jacob. Around his 3rd birthday(mid-October) we gave it a good try. After several weeks of no progress and more accidents than I can count I finally gave up. This was just around Thanksgiving. So on Friday I decided I should give it another try. After about 3 days, he was peeing on the potty just fine. In fact he would even tell me when he had to go. I was ecstatic. The only problem we had left was that he would not poop in the toilet. So after promising him a McDonald's happy meal and renting a Scooby Do movie. He finally did it on Tuesday. I can't tell you how excited I was. Since then he has had no accidents. In fact today while John and I were at Ben's parent teacher conference he pooped again. He was so excited he didn't want to flush the toliet until we got home and we could see it. My little sister who was babysitting thought this was disgusting but I was just excited that he was so proud of himself.

So we are two days with no accidents and him telling me when he has to go. I am sure he will have a few accidents in the future but for the most part I would say he is potty trained. Someone must be smiling down on me and decided to throw me a bone in this whole motherhood thing. All I have to say is THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

Christmas Morning

I know I have not blogged for a very long time but life has been busy. Since there is not much going on in January and I am determined to blog. I thought I would post about Christmas. We had a great Christmas. The kids loved opening presents, well at least the boys did and they were very happy to help Katelyn.

I think Katelyn's favorite part about Christmas was the cereal straws the boys got in their stockings. She eat about 7 by the time we were done opening presents. Ben was very excited to get a real tool set. Now he wants to build a house with Dad as soon as it is summer. He says you can't build one in the winter because the instructions might blow away. After we opened presents Jacob put his in a big line so he could just stare at them.

Knitting

Okay I know you have all been waiting to see my cute baby hat I finished so here it is. (For those that don't know I have started knitting. So far I have made two scarfs and this hat.) I have to say I loved making this hat. I loved it so much that I finished that hat in a few days. I can't wait to make another one but in the meantime I need to first finish the scarf Ben wants.

Also I think I need to work on my gauge. I don't think the hat fit Katelyn right. Of course it was hard to tell because she was screaming and crying the whole time she had it on. It is probably safe to say she won't wear it. I think next I will make a hat for Ben or Jacob because I know they will wear it.

Determination

On Sunday Ben decided he wanted to count to a 1000. He asked me a few questions, like what was the number right before 1000, and then got started. Every time I would walk past him I would hear him counting "124...., 456..., 765...." Finally after about an hour he got to 1000. He was so proud of himself and I was proud of him for sticking it out and finishing what he started.

Happy Birthday Katelyn

Okay her birthday was actually back on the 17th but I am a little behind due to all of my knitting projects (More on that later). Anyways Katelyn turned 1. I can not believe how fast the last year went. She is now walking and saying things like "dada" and "uh-oh". She is so much fun. She loves playing with her brothers and will even wrestle with them. She always has the biggest smile. She still has no teeth which has made meal time interesting. She loves to give hugs. Her favorite person is Daddy and she has the best belly laugh I have ever heard.

Here are some pictures from her 1st birthday party.

Here is Katelyn with her favorite person in the whole world. Her Daddy!

Here she is trying to blow out candles. She could not figure out what was going on.

Here she is opening presents another thing she did not get.

We also celebrated her birthday at John's parents. Here she is eating cake and then opening presents.

Well we had a great Halloween this year. The kids ended up going to three parties along with trick or treating on Halloween night. John and I even went to a party.

Here are my cute kids in their costumes.

Here are the kids at my family Halloween Party. They got to decorate pumpkins with stickers and hit a pinata. They had a great time. Also the baby in the turtle costume is my nephew. I loved his costume he looked so cute.

Katelyn's New Trick

For the past several weeks this has been Katelyn's favorite thing to do. I don't know why she loves moving the stools around so she is enclosed, but she does. She even tries to do it while the boys are sitting on the stools eating breakfast or lunch. Here is a video of her doing it. It just makes me laugh watching her. You can just see her thinking about the best way to arrange the chairs.
